“Men in Black 3” brings in most holiday weekend revenue

    This past holiday weekend, “Men in Black 3” brought in $55 million in the United States and $132 million worldwide. That is the most for the holiday weekend, which includes topping “The Avengers”. (as of 5/29/2012).

    After its first weekend in the theaters, “Men in Black 3” has topped “The Avengers” and “Battleship” in holiday weekend revenue, which was $55 million domestically. It also earned $132 million worldwide. It is troubling that it made only $55 million in the US, when it cost so much to make. But, as usual these days there is more money made in revenue worldwide. It is a comedy movie which stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. Basically, the inter-galatic criminal Boris escapes from prison on the moon, and wants to come back in time to kill agent K who shot off his arm in 1969. And the movie goes on from there packed with action and adventure. Sadly we can’t reveal too much of the movie. It received mostly positive results from critics.
    Here is a poll taken from Stoller Media Lit 7 period 5 students. It asks what movie would you want to see more, “The Avengers” or “Men in Black”. 75% of the students would want to see “Men in Black 3”, and 25% of the students would want to see “The Avengers”.  This may be nothing out of the ordinary considering “Men in Black 3” is practically brand new while “The Avengers” is about three weeks old. Here are some thoughts from Stoller Middle school student David Bemis when asked if it was a good movie he said “yes”. When questioned if the plot was good and smooth flowing he said “yeah”. He also gave it an 8.5/10 rating.

This next interview is from Stoller Middle school student who wishes to be anonymous. He hasn’t seen “Men in Black 3” but has seen the first two of the series. When asked if he wanted to see “Men in Black 3” he said “yeah” and when asked if he has seen any other “Men in Black” movies, he said “yes one and two”. His thoughts on if they were good were, “yeah”. That wraps up this interview. Next we will have our final interview. After that the article will have to wrap up because, it needs to be 500 words.

    This final interview is from another person who wishes to be anonymous. He and I recently went to see “Men in Black 3”. These are his thoughts and opinions. First his favorite character was “Boris - he was the guy who had all the good lines”. This second question was, would you recommend it to anybody else, he said “yes”. Lastly he gave it a “ 7/10” rating.
