Will the audience like the NEW Spider-Man?

Will the Audience Like the NEW Spider-Man?

By: Kristina Mokalla

The new remake of the Amazing Spider-Man coming out July 3rd in theaters with Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Rhys Ifans may not be what the audience will expect from a super hero as great as Spider-Man because of all the changes.

The new remake of the Amazing Spider-Man seems to have a negative effect on the people that liked the newest Spider-Man movie in 2002. The changed plot part of the audience will like while others will long for the old.

The new Spider-Man movies changed plot is supposed to be more like the comics. This will attract the comic-loving fans that have been waiting for this for years, considering that the last Amazing Spider-Man movie was in 2002.

Spider-Man from 2002.

A poll was made and there was a ratio of one person that thought the new Spider-Man movie would be better to the old to one person that thought the old would be better than the new.
Spider-Man was created by Stan Lee. He was tired of making the comics his boss wanted him to make. He came up with the Fantastic Four when a comic company competitor released a comic book that was being highly successful. The comic book the competitor company made was of a team of superheroes. His boss came up to him asking to make a comic that was a team of superheroes. Since Stan wanted to quit and he finally had his chance to make a comic he could have fun with, he thought he would have nothing to lose.

During my interview with Bailey Proffit she said, “I’m hoping it will be more like the comics.”

Heather Barren told me, “I think it’s not going to be as similar but still pretty similar.” She said referring to if the new Spider-Man movie will have more things in it that are in the comics compared to the old one.

is the first Amazing Spider-Man movie in 1977.
It seems that everyone thinks the effects will be something to remember. Such as Heather Barren who quote said, “I think it’s going to be different because it has more effects.”

Jeremy Oh said, “I think it's going to be really bad because the old Spider-Man has an effect on the audience.”

Jeremy Oh doesn’t stand alone. Many people feel that way. Such as Sean VanDyke who said, “I think the old one was better because it had an original plot. While the new one will be in like a new universe that has nothing to do with the first ones.” Sean didn’t feel that the new plot that’s supposed to be more like the comics the audience will like better. He said, “No, the first one had a nice blend of origin, villain, and story.”

On the other hand Bailey Proffit thinks the new Amazing Spider-Man will be better because, “the old one wasn’t as entertaining and the new ones commercials catch my attention. I like how Spider-Man’s shadow is a spider, it looks cool. Also because its marvel and I like marvel, the detailed costumes, and the special effects.” She also thinks that this movie will attract lots of viewers because the actors in this movie have been in recent movies.

To settle the argument for whether the new one will be better than the old ones the viewers will just have to see when it comes out on July 3rd.

  1. Kristina, I am a big fan of the "Spider Man" movies with Toby Maguire, so I'm going to feel a bit disloyal when I see the new movie with Andrew Garfield. This is a nice article.
