Former
NFL player talks about miserable life after NFL
By Jared Reed P.5
An
anonymous former NFL player who is with more than three dozen other players
claim that they have had a terrible life after the NFL. They claim that they
have to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on medical treatment because
of their multiple concussions that they received during their career in the
NFL. If you had multiple concussions during your career, would you want the NFL
to pay for the treatment that is for the brain damage. The anonymous player
said that most of his money goes to his treatment. So he is just barely edging
by without having no more money. Some of my sources for this article are
ESPN.GO.com and nfl head lawsuits.com. I have interviewed four people and one
of the people that I interviewed was Mrs.George (pe teacher). She said that the
player should be able to have a little bit of a choice but the training staff
should be able to overrule the players. Mrs.George also said that the players
know how they feel. so if they feel some of the symptoms of a concussion such
as dizziness, the players should stand up and take responsibility of their
health and actions and sit out until they are cleared to play, and/or feel
better. Another person that I interviewed was Nick Wiley. He said that the
training staff should have more power over the players so that the training
staff do not risk that the player gets hurt any more. Nick Wiley also said that
they should also sit out if they do not feel good such as dizziness and/or
concussion symptoms. Including this anonymous player, three dozen players
joined in a lawsuit against the NFL which was filed in a Miami court. In all of
the plaintiffs, one of them is a well known running back for the Miami
Hurricane. His name is Najeh Davenport. It is heard That this lawsuit is one of
dozens of others filed in different districts. some of the other NFL players
speak out and say that now they suffer memory loss, depression, and migraine
headaches. One of the worse parts of this lawsuit is that the players claim
that the NFL has been ignoring their evidence that suggests that repeated head
injuries could cause long term medical issues. On the other side of this
argument, you have the lawyers. They say that the NFL is and has been half
heartedly attempting to ensure the safety of the players on the field. It needs
to change said the lawyers. As you can see, it is not just the players that
think the NFL has to ensure the safety of players wholeheartedly, not half
heartedly. Both sides with the players and lawyers agree that the NFL has to
help pay the medical bills for their health and treatment. In the end the
former and present players of the NFL want the NFL to ensure that players are
okay. They want the NFL to give much more care to the players even if they have
a slight concussion.

Jared, what an interesting topic that you hear little about in the media. I would weave my interview responses into my article more so that they strengthen my writing versus them just adding more information.
